Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Career Studio collects when you use this website, why we collect it, when it is shared and how you can remove it.

What we collect
- Your account. Your name and email address. You sign in with a link sent to your email or, if you choose, with Google, in which case Google shares your name and email address with us.
- Your candidate profile. What you add: for example a headline, phone number, graduation year, skills, a profile photo and the resumes you upload or build.
- Applications and saved openings. The openings you save and apply to, and the status of each application.
- Employer accounts. Company details, documents provided for verification, listings and the team members who manage them.
- Messages to us. When you use the contact form: your name, email address, an optional phone number and your message.
- How openings are used. When you view an opening, we count the view using a random identifier kept only for your browser tab, so employers can see how many people looked at their listing. No view is counted when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. If you are signed in, we also record your device so we can send notifications you have switched on.
How we use it
- To sign you in, run your account and show you openings, applications and resumes.
- To check employers and review each listing before it is published.
- To pass your application to the employer you apply to.
- To reply to messages and send emails about your account and applications.
- To report totals such as applications and confirmed placements, without naming you.
When it is shared
- With employers, only when you apply. Your resume library is private. Your profile and the resume you choose are shared with an employer only when you apply to their listing. Openings that use the employer's own application page take you to that page, where the employer's own terms apply.
- With services that run the site for us. Hosting, file and image storage, and email delivery.
- When you ask for AI help. Only if you choose one of the optional actions described below.
- Videos. Resource videos are hosted on YouTube and load only when you press play, through YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use advertising or analytics services.
Optional AI help
Some tools can use a third-party AI service. Nothing is sent unless you choose one of these actions, and each sends text, not the file itself:
- Read my resume (when you set up your profile): the text of the PDF you upload is read to suggest profile details. This step does not save your file or your profile.
- Read LinkedIn profile (profile import): the text of the LinkedIn PDF you upload, up to its first 10 pages, is read to suggest profile details for you to review. The PDF is not saved as your application resume.
- Convert PDF for editing (in your resume library): the text of a resume PDF already stored in your account is read to make an editable version. Your name as it appears on your account is replaced first. Your original PDF stays as it is.
- Suggest improvements (on a resume tailored to an opening): the resume's content and the opening's job title and description are sent to suggest wording. Nothing is saved until you choose to.
Before any of these are sent, we remove the email addresses and phone numbers we can detect in the text. This is pattern matching, so other details in your resume, such as your education, employers and any contact details written in an unusual form, are sent as they appear.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and resumes at any time, and choose which resume to send with each application.
- Turn notifications on or off on each device.
- Delete your account from account settings. Your profile, contact details, saved openings and sign-in access are removed, and your resumes and photos are queued for permanent deletion. Files an employer has already downloaded cannot be recalled. Anonymous application outcomes stay in our impact totals.
